A night the 757 community will never forget

On Sunday, December 7, 2025, the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront became a gathering place for excellence, leadership, legacy, and community as Faithwalk Productions presented the 12th Annual Black Men Rock Image Awards & Scholarship Ball.

It was an evening designed to do more than hand out awards.

It was an evening to tell a different story about Black men.

A story about men who lead.

Men who serve.

Men who teach.

Men who create.

Men who build businesses.

Men who protect communities.

Men who inspire others.

Men who use their gifts to make the world around them better.

And on this night, 42 exceptional men were celebrated for doing exactly that.

More Than an Awards Show

More Than an Awards Show

The Black Men Rock Image Awards began in 2013 through the vision of the late Jacobby Debouvier.

Jacobby understood the importance of representation. He believed that Black men deserved to have their accomplishments intentionally placed in the spotlight — not because they needed validation, but because the next generation needed to see examples of what was possible.

Over the years, the Black Men Rock Image Awards has recognized more than 400 Black men for their contributions to their communities, professions, families, and society.

The 2025 celebration continued that tradition.

But Black Men Rock has always been about more than recognition.

It is also about opportunity.

It is about scholarship.

It is about legacy.

And it is about using celebration as a vehicle to create a better future.

The 2025 celebration carried the unmistakable imprint of its founder.

Jacobby Debouvier was a man of many gifts.

Community Servant

But those titles only tell part of his story.

He was a man who believed in people.

In 2013, he created the Black Men Rock Image Awards as a way to recognize Black men who were making a positive difference and to challenge the negative images that so often dominate conversations about Black men.

His vision also included giving back.

The scholarship established through Black Men Rock has evolved into the Jacobby Debouvier Memorial Scholarship, ensuring that his commitment to education continues beyond his lifetime.

Every scholarship recipient becomes part of that legacy.

Every honoree adds another chapter.

And every supporter helps keep Jacobby's vision alive.
